Today I want to share another interview with you that I had with Christopher Kapito in Malawi where we address the training FMI provided for their people in partnership with Farming God’s Way.

What you will hear is incredible; as Chris puts it, God has healed the soil! Here are a few key takeaways:

• Harvests in the past years were only lasting 1-2 months, but now they are harvesting enough food to last 8-11 months
• They are now eating 3 meals a day instead of 1
• Some people have been blessed with a surplus and are now donating food to help feed orphans!
• Church attendance has increased!
• People are repenting for going to witch doctors and are abandoning evil practices of depending on magic potions and are instead submitting to God, putting their hope in Him as they recognize Him as Lord over all creation!

For those of you who gave generously for months, so we could feed children in the six villages we support, thank you for partnering with us to save lives; you made a difference in the lives of thousands of children. Now we are seeing the fruit of these efforts as we help these villages become self-sustaining, but we still need your help. Right now we are trying to raise an additional $6,000, so we can build two more chicken coops (we have built two and want to build a total of six eventually, so each village we support has one to add protein to the diets of the children there).

It is also exciting to know that we trained about 200 local leaders in these methods, and they are now training others! FMI covered the fuel cost to bring the trainers from Chikwawa, 140 km away, to Phalombe, as well as meals and help with accommodation and transport costs for the participants.

The participants then used the methods on their own lands, as well as forming clubs in their communities and teaching others how to farm this way.

Thank you for supporting this work through your gifts. People are being equipped to better support themselves and feed their families. Also, many of the participants who attended this training are village pastors. This provides them another method of showing God’s love to the lost in their communities.
