Gary W. Paukert
Gary grew up attending First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, Colorado, where he submitted his life to Christ at the age of 12. In 1980 he graduated from Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, a Christian college affiliated with the Presbyterian denomination. Since then he has attended and/or been a member of many different Bible-believing churches as God has moved him and his family around the world. These have included Southern Baptist in Midland, TX, Christian and Missionary Alliance in Alberta, Canada, Evangelical Free in Denver, CO, non-denominational in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Bogota, Colombia, and International Baptist in Stavanger, Norway.
Gary has been married to his wife, Barb, for 32 years. They have one daughter who is pursuing degrees in Geology in the USA and who hopes to follow in her father’s international career footsteps.
Gary is a professional Geophysicist, currently living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and involved in energy exploration for the last 32 years. He has worked for a wide variety of companies, ranging from multi-national corporations to junior exploration companies. Much of his career has been spent doing business in and with Latin American countries. He is fluent in Spanish and has a heart to see the Gospel spread throughout the business community, impoverished and indigenous peoples of Latin America. He has had two opportunities to accompany Christmas box distribution teams to Mexico with Operation Christmas Child. Gary oversees FMI’s involvement in Latin America, and specifically our efforts to support churches in Colombia, where he lived during 2011-2012.
