Discussing International Church Planting Round a Table
In September I participated in a round table discussion focused on International Church (IC) Planting. Jon Davis, who heads up GICN and was the organizer of the round table, invited me to attend both to present what the International Baptist Convention is doing in regards to church planting and also to give me an opportunity to better tie into a variety of other international church networks, as we believed we would all, international church networks and FMI alike, gain by the dialog and cooperation.
FMI was able to speak into this incredibly important work going on around the world, and I was asked to provide electronic copies of documentation I had provided, which Jon wants to consider using more widely.
The round table was hosted at Ravi Zacharias International Ministries’ offices in Oxford (Interestingly, they have about 40 people employed there; it is quite a busy place!). It was attended by leaders of various international church networks such as the IBC (me), MICN (Missional International Church Network), FEIC (Fellowship of European International Churches), and GICN (Global International Church Network), as well as a VP from Canadian Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA), the head of doctoral studies for Nyack who is also the President of Global Leadership Inc. out of New York, the missions pastor of Green Acres Baptist Church, the president of InStep Live, and others.
