Church Planting Summit in Estonia
Converge Worldwide is a Baptist conference based in the United States. They are known for their tremendous success planting churches and have been assisting other groups of churches in the US and abroad in church planting. In fact, they are the organization that is helping the International Baptist Convention to gear up its church planting efforts.
They have organized a Church Planting Summit in Tallinn, Estonia this April where they are inviting “key leaders from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and America” to meet with their director of international ministries, Ivan Veldhuizen. I was honored to be one of two church leaders from Norway who have been invited, and I look forward to seeing what I can learn as well as what I may be able to bring to the table.
This opportunity fits in very nicely with another invitation I received a while back from Helari Puu who has not only been a Christian leader in Estonia but was the General Secretary of the European Baptist Federation. He asked me to come to Estonia and meet key leaders there with the hopes that I could help them in establishing at least two international churches, one in Tallinn and one in a college town. There is actually already one going in the college town but at that time the church planter was flying in from Texas one Sunday a month. It looks like this will give me an opportunity to meet some of those people as well, which I am very excited about.
Please pray for me as I pursue this opportunity and strive to serve God wherever He sends me. Thank you.
