400 Attend Leadership Conference in Rwanda

In February FMI hosted a spiritual leadership conference in Kigali, Rwanda, where we saw God move and open some incredible doors! Approximately 350 church leaders attended, mostly from Rwanda, but also small delegations from Burundi and Congo (DRC). Many bishops were in attendance, including the head of the Rwandan Baptist Convention.

Through nine sessions spread out over three days, David provided a Biblical foundation for spiritual leadership, bringing Biblical leaders to life in vibrant and applicable ways, and teaching crucial and practical principles of spiritual leadership to the leaders in attendance.

We received an incredible amount of positive feedback, and we even have some video testimonials (click here to see the first one). Here are a few snippets of the feedback we received:

  • After attending the first day, a lay leader, who is also an attorney, scheduled a colleague to cover a court appearance for him the next day, so he could attend all three days of the conference, saying that this was university-level teaching he could not afford to miss!
  • Bishop Julies from Burundi said, I dont know what to tell you but the work you do is just, exceptional.
  • Bishop Julies from Burundi and Bishop Niko from Congo have both invited FMI to bring this Biblical teaching to their countries as soon as possible and have been sending us follow-up emails since Kigali in an effort to get their conferences booked right away!

All of this encourages us as it confirms that God has called us to this ministry and is using it in powerful ways to transform ministries and empower Kingdom workers around the world.

One other exciting note: we videoed the conference, which we plan to distribute along with a translated copy of the notes. This will allow attendees to review the material and to take it back to their churches and share it with many more leaders all over Rwanda, even into rural areas we were not able to reach.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support of FMI’s work in Rwanda as well as around the globe. Please continue to pray for us as we seek God’s direction as to how FMI can best be used to stimulate growth and health of churches around the world.
